Zonal Deputy Director ( Fisheries), Madurai visited MABIF to explore a new fish culture method - The Biofloc. It is an environment-friendly aquaculture technique based on in situ microorganism production. MABIF described how the technology works, what are the precautions to be taken, what species to be grown, and how it benefits the stakeholders in water deficit areas. MABIF is in the initial stage of engagement to take this system of fish production to the intended beneficiaries as well as aquapreneurs through the fisheries department.
