As part of a collaborative service learning program between the Lady Doak College, Madurai and the College of Interdisciplinary & Experiential Learning, of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore, a four member team of two students and two staff members are visited NABARD-MABIF, Madurai. The purpose of their visit was to learn about the success stories of women farmers/startups who have started their own businesses with the support and incubation of MABIF.
The team's interest in learning about the success stories of women farmers indicates that they may be interested in understanding how MABIF is supporting the women's empowerment in the agriculture sector. It is a positive sign that educational institutions like Lady Doak College and the College of Interdisciplinary and Experiential Learning are taking an active interest in promoting sustainable development and community engagement through service learning programs.
Also they visited the NABARD-MABIF Food Processing Centre which includes Milk Processing Unit, Retort Processing Unit, Chikki Processing Unit, Animal Feed Production Unit and Food Testing Laboratory etc.,
