NABARD MABIF organized an industrial visit for all its employees on 17th June 23, Saturday to Manna Foods Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Britannia Industries Ltd, Nagari, Madurai.
Manna Foods Pvt Ltd is primarily involved in manufacturing different types of biscuits (Marie Gold, Milk Bikis, Treat, Milk Cream, Bourbon, Good Day) and rusks for Britannia. This amazing opportunity helped us learn and get a hands-on experience about work apart from the books. We witnessed how each department of Manna Foods ensures efficient and effective completion of its industrial operations. We got to visit the manufacturing unit and also closely observed how products were prepared with utmost care as per the quality standards. This is one of the biggest manufacturing unit of Britannia in south India with a production capacity of 200 Tonnes/day.
The key takeaways from this Industrial Visit were:
1) Knowledge of production and baking methods for variety of biscuits.
2) Quality standards, assurance and control methods that were implemented across the production process.
3)Principles of proper sanitary and hygienic methods.
4) Skills such as problem solving, decision making and critical thinking used in every step of the operation.
5) Ability to conform to professional standards as they relate to good business ethics.
6) Management principles involving division of work, order, responsibility, and discipline with full commitment for smooth functioning.
A big shout-out to Mr. Suresh, Factory Head, and Mr. Jose, Production Manager and also, Manna Foods Team members for facilitating our visit throughout the day. We would also like to thank NABARD & TNAU for giving us the opportunity to experience a great learning. This visit will definitely help employees to better support the food processing startup ecosystem.
